“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. A station wagon on fire off the shoulder near Barstow. I watched Shatner-beams glitter in the dark near the LaVey Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in devil’s rain. (burps) Time to diet.”

“Here’s mud in your eye!”
Satanists from 1600s New England move to the California desert. (It’s the humidity.) Even though it’s the 1970s, the Devil persists in trying to exact vengeance on a family that wronged him back then.
Devil who will not be appearing in this picture.
This is a good one. For one thing, it’s directed by Robert Fuest, who also gave us The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Dr. Phibes Rises Again, and the criminally underseen And Soon the Darkness. Ernest Borgnine, William Shatner, Ida Lupino, Tom Skerritt, Keenan Wynn, and a very young John Travolta are Satan’s friends or foes—I’ll never tell, but Queen will—in this cult film about a cult starring a guy who’s in a cult.
“Am I clear yet?”
